Manchester Central launches a new Drupal 9 website in 2021 with Big Blue Door

Manchester Central, an award-winning venue, required a website overhaul to modernize its technology, improve content management, and integrate its booking system as its legacy Drupal 7 software neared end-of-life. Big Blue Door was engaged to build a new digital platform that would better showcase the venue with dynamic content and help establish the organization as an industry thought leader.

Big Blue Door developed the new website using Drupal 9 with a flexible paragraph-based approach for content management. The solution included a Lottie animation for the homepage, integration with the Ungerboeck booking system, and the addition of virtual tours. The technically robust site, hosted on AWS with autoscaling and a CDN, launched successfully in June 2021. Big Blue Door continues to provide ongoing support and maintenance for the venue's digital presence.
