Case Study: Amnesty International achieves brand-consistent global publishing with Big Bite's reusable WordPress framework

A Big Bite Case Study

Amnesty International launches 16 regional websites with Big Bite

Amnesty International, a multifaceted global human rights organization, faced the challenge of standardizing and simplifying its digital publishing processes across its many international offices. They approached the vendor Big Bite to build a solution that would allow their non-technical, globally dispersed teams to easily create numerous websites and microsites while retaining strong brand consistency, accessibility, and performance.

Big Bite created a reusable core framework using the Gutenberg WordPress block editor, which was released as the open-source Humanity theme. This solution enabled Amnesty's teams to build brand-consistent web pages easily. The project successfully launched over 16 regional websites and a feature-rich central site, amnesty.org, which included new donations functionality, online petitions, and a synchronized SharePoint integration. This work has helped Amnesty International maintain a strong digital presence to increase awareness and garner more worldwide support for its causes.
