A BibliU Case Study
North Shore Community College, a community college serving a diverse and non-residential student body, faced a significant challenge in providing equitable and flexible access to required course materials. With a large population of students who had limited time to be on campus, the existing system of physical print textbook reserves was inflexible and inaccessible. The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated this issue by making print reserves completely unusable. The college's Director of Library & Learning Resource Services, Rex Krajewski, sought an affordable digital solution that would integrate seamlessly with their course management system and allow for concurrent student access.
BibliU provided a solution through its On-Demand Learning model for digital reserves, which integrated with the college's systems to give students a single point of access. This ensured multiple students could use materials simultaneously without waiting. The results were immediate, with students gaining full digital access to reserves. BibliU delivered an affordable and equitable solution that empowered students in their remote studies and eliminated manual labor for the library, creating a necessary permanent innovation for the institution.
