Talladega Superspeedway upgrades 2.66-mile raceway sound with Biamp

Talladega Superspeedway needed to upgrade its audio system to support modern race day events, which now feature high-level pre-race concerts in addition to the race itself. The challenge was to find a powerful, weather-resistant loudspeaker solution that would not obstruct spectator sight lines at the massive venue. They turned to vendor Biamp for a solution using their Community R SERIES loudspeakers.

Biamp implemented a system of 101 R.5HPT loudspeakers and 50 R.5SUB subwoofers. The compact, high-output speakers were mounted on poles, improving safety and visibility. The installation was completed smoothly and resulted in a dramatic, "night and day" improvement in sound quality. According to the installer, Biamp's solution now provides fans with a true concert experience regardless of their seat location.
