Summa Health - Customer Case Study

Summa Health System, an integrated healthcare delivery system in Akron, Ohio, needed its call center to help employees focus on phone conversations while also protecting the privacy of callers’ health information. The facility included more than 150 workstations, and staff reported that nearby conversations were causing distractions and raising concerns about patient confidentiality. Biamp’s QtPro sound masking system was selected to address these issues.

Biamp and its integrator installed Qt Pro emitters throughout the call center, connected to a Qt 600 control module, with automatic ramping to adjust masking levels during busy periods. The solution improved speech privacy and reduced distractions, helping staff concentrate and better serve patients. As a result, Summa Health reported strong satisfaction with the outcome and began considering sound masking for other areas of the hospital, including nursing stations and patient rooms.
