The Social Security Administration (SSA) needed to improve privacy in more than 60 field offices across 18 states, where waiting areas sat just about 15 feet from consultation windows. Because patrons discussed sensitive Social Security and financial information in these spaces, SSA faced challenges meeting privacy obligations under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the Privacy Act of 1974.
