Simpson, Gumpertz & Heger - Customer Case Study

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger (SGH), a national engineering firm in Waltham, MA, needed a way to reduce noise in its headquarters, where high ceilings, exposed beams, concrete floors, and other hard surfaces amplified sound. SGH had previously used Biamp sound masking solutions and turned again to Biamp for its latest expansion, using the Qt® sound masking system to support privacy and productivity in a collaborative office environment.

Biamp recommended a Qt® 600 Sound Masking System for the new space, with nearly 150 custom-painted emitters installed across four zones to accommodate varying ceiling heights and blend with the interior. Biamp also integrated the system with SGH’s paging setup so the masking would mute during emergency announcements. The result was a distraction-free environment that improved focus and employee satisfaction, and SGH reported the difference is immediately noticeable when the system is switched off.
