Saint Joseph’s University renovated its historic Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse into the new Michael J. Hagan Arena, expanding the venue for basketball while needing a sound system that would provide clear, intelligible audio for every seat in a loud, reverberant sports environment. The university worked with Biamp on the project, using Community Professional loudspeakers and related audio components to help meet the arena’s demanding coverage and clarity requirements.

Biamp’s solution featured a distributed, zoned audio design with Community Solutions SLS920 loudspeakers, VLF212BI subwoofers, iBOX i2W8 loudspeakers, QSC amplifiers, Rane processors, and AMX control. The system delivered even coverage, strong intelligibility, and high-fidelity sound throughout the arena, and the initial response was extremely positive—Coach Phil Martelli called the sound system “extraordinary.”
