Peach Tree Health, a network of Federally Qualified Health Centers in Northern California, needed a cost-effective way to protect patient speech privacy across its busy medical office environment. In exam rooms and reception areas, staff and patients regularly discuss sensitive medical information, so the organization looked for an effective alternative to previously used sound-absorbing or blocking materials. Biamp’s QtPro™ Sound Masking System was installed throughout the new 14,000-square-foot clinic, with Qt® Emitters placed in reception areas, 17 exam rooms, and medical team office areas and connected to a Qt 600 control module. The result was improved patient privacy and less fear of being overheard during care conversations; Peach Tree Health was pleased enough with the outcome that it planned to roll out the solution to additional locations and its corporate office.
