Martin Assenmacher, Christoph Sevenich, and Sebastian Riedel - Customer Case Study

Martin Assenmacher, Christoph Sevenich, and Sebastian Riedel’s neurology practice in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany needed to protect sensitive patient speech privacy in a small medical office with a reception area, waiting area, exam rooms, and corridor space. Like many healthcare environments, the practice had to safeguard confidential information both for patient comfort and to meet German privacy requirements. Biamp’s sound masking offering was selected to help address the challenge.

Biamp, through Cambridge Sound Management’s QtPro®/Qt® 100 sound masking system, installed ceiling speakers connected to a wall-mounted control module behind the reception desk. The system adds a low-level, unobtrusive background sound that reduces speech intelligibility throughout the office. As a result, conversations in exam rooms are no longer overheard in the waiting area even when doors are open, creating a more acoustically comfortable and private environment with improved confidentiality for patients and staff.
