A Biamp Case Study
The city of Marghera, Venice, faced the challenge of protecting its 30,000 residents from potential toxic pollutant releases at its industrial port with an emergency alert system. The community required a highly reliable acoustic warning system capable of covering a wide, low-rise area. To meet this need, the project team selected amplification and control equipment from vendor Biamp, specifically their Vocia platform.
The solution managed by Biamp involved installing 30 high-output horn loudspeakers on a central water tower, controlled by Vocia VA-8600 amplifiers and AM-600c power modules. This system met strict European safety standards and included automated monitoring to ensure immediate fault detection. The successful implementation of this Biamp solution effectively keeps residents safe and served as a model, inspiring the nearby city of Vicenza to develop a similar warning system.
