A Biamp Case Study
Biamp helped the Idaho State Capitol in Boise, Idaho, modernize its aging audio infrastructure during a major restoration and expansion of the historic building. The state needed a flexible, future-proof AV system that could support legislative operations and media access without detracting from the capitol’s restored beauty. Biamp’s solution used AudiaFLEX processing, VS-8 wall-mount control panels, and Multi-Channel Amplifiers to replace the antiquated setup and extend audio capabilities across the building.
Biamp’s redesigned system now supports 14 different audio systems, including committee rooms, the House and Senate chambers, the JFAC chamber, and the Governor’s Office, with about 300 microphones and 200 speakers. The new architecture also makes it easy to route audio anywhere in the building, supporting Idaho Public Television and media users with direct feeds and far less setup complexity. According to users, the result is a major improvement in flexibility, efficiency, and usability—described as going from a “horse and buggy to a sports car.”
