Estádio Mineirão, the renovated soccer stadium in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, needed a world-class sound system for the 2014 FIFA World Cup that could deliver clear coverage and high intelligibility for huge crowds while meeting FIFA requirements and standing up to extreme heat and outdoor exposure. Biamp, working through Soundvision Engineering, was selected to help address the project’s scale and monitoring challenges with a robust audio infrastructure.

Biamp’s solution used BSS Audio BLU-800 signal processors, Crown amplifiers, CobraNet with D-Link redundancy, and a Community R SERIES loudspeaker design centered on 48 R2-474Z, 24 R2-694Z, 24 R2-52Z, 4 R2-77Z, and 6 R2-94 loudspeakers across 24 clusters. The system delivered exceptional coverage, SPL, and intelligibility after testing, with custom brackets added to safely secure the arrays.
