Dartmouth College - Customer Case Study

Dartmouth College needed an outdoor sound system for Burnham Field, its new soccer facility in Hanover, New Hampshire. The challenge was to provide clear announcements and music for players and spectators while keeping sound highly directional so it would not disturb nearby residential neighbors. Vendor Biamp was part of the solution through a Biamp Nexia unit handling system DSP, alongside the loudspeaker and amplification setup.

Biamp’s DSP was integrated with two Community R6-51 loudspeakers, four WET Series W2-2W8 speakers, QSC amplifiers, and Shure microphones to create a weather-resistant, tightly controlled system suited for the field. The result was a highly effective installation that delivered strong coverage to the grandstand and playing area, with Dartmouth reporting that the system exceeded their needs and, importantly, generated no neighbor complaints nearly a year after installation.
