CUNY School of Law - Customer Case Study

CUNY School of Law at Queens College in Flushing, NY needed to replace its aging 1991 lecture hall sound system, which had become difficult to hear, overly complex to use, and prone to maintenance issues. The school was working with Biamp and Monte Brothers to improve intelligibility, increase microphone access for students, and simplify operation for professors and staff, using Biamp’s AudiaFLEX Digital Signal Platform as the core of the upgrade.

Biamp’s AudiaFLEX DSP solution, paired with additional Audio-Technica microphones and CobraNet-connected AudiaEXPI units, modernized the room with clearer audio, easier control, and much faster maintenance. The number of tabletop microphones was doubled to 159, each student gained access to their own mic, and professors could now shut off table mics with a simple button instead of navigating an analog panel. The result was a cleaner, more reliable system with less cabling, quicker troubleshooting, and no need to discard the old system, which was relocated to another classroom.
