Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department - Customer Case Study

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) needed a full audio/visual upgrade for its command center to provide security and operational communications for the 2012 Democratic National Convention. The challenge was to design a system with even sound distribution and full mix-minus capabilities for voice reinforcement that would also be suitable for everyday use after the event. They worked with vendor Biamp to implement a solution using the Audia digital audio platform.

The solution from Biamp, implemented by integrator ClarkPowell, used a network of AudiaFLEX units to tie the command center and two adjoining conference rooms into one large, customizable matrix switching system. The result was a flexible, scalable, and incredibly reliable system that met the high-security needs of the convention. CMPD reported that the multi-purpose audio solution allows them to focus on community safety and is built to last for a very long time.
