Calgary Transit needed to upgrade the voice communication systems across six aging C-Train stations in Calgary, Alberta, as the city’s rapid growth increased ridership and emergency response demands. Its existing equipment was outdated, ineffective, and difficult to maintain in the limited equipment rooms at each station. Biamp provided the Vocia Voice Communication System to meet the transit system’s need for clearer, more flexible communication.
Biamp’s Vocia solution enabled centralized control, zoned paging, and live and pre-recorded announcements, while also improving space efficiency and future scalability across Calgary Transit’s rail network. The system was installed at six Northeast Line stations and supported staff training to help technicians troubleshoot issues proactively. The result was improved communication for the hundreds of thousands of daily C-Train passengers and a platform that can expand as Calgary Transit’s needs continue to grow.
