Brewer Insurance Information Services (BIIS), headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina, needed a way to reduce distracting noise in its 2,500-square-foot office suite inside a busy shopping center. Employees and students were being interrupted by overheard conversations from nearby offices and retail spaces, creating privacy and focus issues. Biamp provided the Qt 600 Sound Masking System to address the acoustic challenges.

Biamp installed a multi-zone Qt 600 sound masking solution with emitters placed throughout the acoustic ceiling tiles and connected to BIIS’s network for easy control. The result was a quieter, more productive workspace with significantly reduced room-to-room noise transmission; voices that do reach the space are now faint and largely unrecognizable. BIIS also uses Biamp’s monitoring and control software to adjust masking levels easily for presentations and events.
