A Biamp Case Study
The Catholic Community of Saint Francis of Assisi, a large church in North Carolina, faced significant acoustic challenges in its reverberant worship hall, which caused poor speech intelligibility. Their outdated audio system was unable to support modern worship elements and required extensive manual adjustments. Seeking to modernize its services, the church worked with integrator AVCON and vendor Biamp to find a solution that would provide flexibility and clearer sound quality.
Biamp's Tesira digital signal processor (DSP) was implemented to orchestrate a complete audio revamp. The solution mitigated the acoustic issues, integrated new components like a line array and a Roland mixer, and significantly simplified operations for staff. The results included dramatically increased audio intelligibility for parishioners, the ability to host a full contemporary music program, and a greatly simplified mixing process, all of which generated enthusiasm across the parish community. The installation was also completed efficiently to meet a strict deadline.
