A BeyondTrust Case Study
A globally recognized multinational bank providing retail, wholesale and investment banking, wealth management and card services needed to meet data-privacy and financial regulations across more than 99 countries. An internal audit found they required stricter, globally consistent control and granular tracking of authorizations on their Unix and Linux servers—while preserving their existing home‑grown permissions system—to protect customer data and sustain regulatory compliance.
BeyondTrust Professional Services integrated the bank’s permissions system with PowerBroker for Unix and Linux (PBUL) using custom connectors and PBUL’s policy language, enabling delegated task control, centralized logging and change‑management workflows. The solution was operational within months, validated in proof of concept, and delivered consolidated enforcement and reporting across geographies; the engagement also produced automated/manual override tracking, a prioritized roadmap of feature enhancements, and the option to extend analytics with BeyondInsight.
