A medium-sized banking company engaged BeyondTrust to meet GLBA compliance and tighten control over privileged accounts. The bank needed to secure and automate privileged password management, eliminate password sharing, remove permanent local admin rights while enabling elevation only when needed, and gain auditing and alerts for Active Directory and privileged activity.

The bank deployed BeyondTrust PowerBroker, including PowerBroker Auditor, to automate credential cycling, enforce least-privilege elevation, and log, audit and report privileged actions and AD changes. After evaluating vendors such as Dell/Quest, the bank reported easier monitoring of privileged accounts and plans to expand auditing and activity reporting in its next PAM project.
