A BeyondTrust Case Study
A Fortune 100 financial services firm with more than 90,000 people, 50,000 servers and 80,000 workstations faced an audit finding that privileged activities weren’t being logged and struggled with fragmented administration, mixed on‑prem/cloud environments, and organizational resistance to tighter controls. The scale and diversity of systems—Windows, UNIX/Linux, cloud apps and in‑house software—made integration and consistent privilege management a major operational and security challenge.
The company adopted a Privileged Access Management (PAM) strategy, deploying PowerBroker/BeyondTrust, bringing the platform in‑house, and implementing RBAC and Active Directory integration to centralize privilege control. Over roughly eight years they achieved enterprise coverage, dramatically reduced administrator entitlements risk, centralized administration, produced rich session and activity logs for analytics and compliance, and improved operational efficiency and delivery timelines.
