A BeyondTrust Case Study
DCI, a developer of core banking software used by hundreds of community banks, faced expanded internal-audit and compliance requirements around privileged access: fully restricting root/SSH access, enforcing password rotation even for unused accounts, delegating limited functions on servers, and implementing two-manager approval workflows and detailed activity tracking across Solaris, Ubuntu and SUSE systems.
To meet those needs DCI deployed BeyondTrust PowerBroker for Unix & Linux and PowerBroker Password Safe. PowerBroker delegated and enforced per-function privileged IDs while Password Safe encrypted, rotated and audited passwords, recorded privileged sessions, and supported two-manager approval workflows. The result: tightened, auditable control over server access with minimal ongoing maintenance, preserved IT productivity, and improved readiness for PCI DSS and other compliance demands.
