An Innovative and Secure Remote Support Solutions Provides a Personal Touch

The University of Georgia, a large public institution with more than 34,000 students and nearly 10,000 employees, needed a secure, scalable remote support solution when its EITS team—led by Rachel Moorehead—began migrating over 100,000 email accounts to a single Microsoft cloud platform. With a nonstandard mix of Apple, Linux, Windows and mobile devices across campus and strict FERPA security requirements, the team sought a tool that could support many device types while keeping sensitive data inside the university’s network.

They chose Bomgar’s appliance-based remote support, which integrates with LDAP, logs and records sessions, and supports Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android; Bomgar Jump Clients give immediate access for VIPs and technicians. After Bomgar University training, multiple departments adopted the solution—reducing resolution time, enabling one-on-one teaching moments that improved user rapport, extending support to remote campuses and mobile technicians, and leading the university to consider enterprise licensing and virtualization.
