Ameritas Life Insurance Corp engaged BeyondTrust to reduce the risk of security breaches and meet compliance requirements (HIPAA and MAR) by improving oversight of privileged accounts. Their challenge was to log, audit and report on privileged activities to strengthen security and regulatory posture.

They deployed BeyondTrust’s PowerBroker Auditor (formerly Blackbird) to capture and report privileged activity; after evaluating Dell/Quest and CA they selected BeyondTrust. The solution delivered new data for auditing and reporting—“[PowerBroker Auditor] gives us data we did not have before”—and Ameritas plans to expand privileged-account projects and consider additional BeyondTrust offerings.
