Collective redundancy consultation and TUPE project

Beststart Human Resources supported a leading law firm facing a complex restructuring after plans for a full merger gave way to hiving off multiple divisions to three different firms. With overlapping TUPE consultations, a collective redundancy process affecting 25 staff, limited internal HR capacity, and a tight 30-day window that later extended to 60 days, the firm needed immediate hands-on support to manage communications, employee concerns, and legal obligations.

Beststart Human Resources stepped in to run the collective redundancy consultation, manage three separate TUPE consultation processes, support and train staff representatives, hold group meetings and onsite surgeries, coordinate individual consultations and redundancy notices, and keep HR administration and transfers on track. The result was that all TUPE consultations were completed within the 8-week window, transfers proceeded as planned with no resignations, and the redundancy process ended without formal appeals or Employment Tribunal claims, while many employees found new roles quickly.
