Deako, a smart-switch provider for home automation platforms like Alexa and Google Assistant, needed an automated and continuous way to verify that its smart lights and switches were working correctly. Working with Bespoken, Deako looked for a solution that could support end-to-end testing of voice-controlled devices and help reduce outages while improving support responsiveness.
Bespoken implemented an automated testing workflow using AWS CloudWatch Events, AWS Lambda, Mocha/Chai tests, Bespoken’s API for Alexa interactions, Deako’s SmartHome API for device verification, and DataDog for reporting and alerts. The company reported that initial integration took less than an hour and the best-practices setup took less than a week, with the resulting monitoring reducing downtime, improving quality, and enabling faster response to issues.
