Case Study: UNESCO advances global media literacy awareness with Berkeley Communications

A Berkeley Communications Case Study

UNESCO reaches over 55,000 people on Facebook with Berkeley Communications

UNESCO faced the challenge of promoting Media and Information Literacy (MIL) as a vital global skill, as the sophisticated technology and volume of information available had outpaced the public's ability to decipher it, allowing fake news and hate speech to thrive. Berkeley Communications was brought on board to support this initiative and elevate the value of MIL worldwide.

Berkeley Communications developed a comprehensive suite of content assets for UNESCO, including infographics, videos, podcasts, and detailed documents. The solution also included a global PR and social media program. This effort secured 280 media mentions, reached over 55,000 people on Facebook, and attracted more than 600 attendees to the virtual curriculum launch, significantly raising global awareness for MIL.
