VYOM Designs Unique Office Building in Western India

VYOM Consultants was engaged to design K10 Grand, a INR 1.2 billion, 200,000 sq ft office building in Vadodara with a unique three-tower-and-core form that bulges outward then tapers upward. The project presented complex structural challenges—column placement around a curved façade, a column-free entrance foyer, increased lateral forces from the shape, and a combined raft foundation—so VYOM used Bentley’s STAAD® for analysis and design validation.

Using Bentley STAAD, VYOM optimized the scheme by connecting the towers to the core, combining straight and inclined columns, employing post-tensioned beams and 20‑ft cantilevers, and arranging shear walls to resist about 70% of lateral forces; STAAD also revealed and helped mitigate a high-tension zone on the ninth floor. The result was a more economical, code-compliant design delivered rapidly: the complete design and drawings were produced in one month with nearly 70 design iterations, speeding delivery and enabling construction to proceed.
