Voyants Solutions Creates a World-class Experience for the People of Bangladesh

Voyants Solutions was engaged to design four major inland water transport (IWT) terminals in Bangladesh to modernize a strained river-transport network, improve passenger safety and accessibility, and accommodate highly variable traffic volumes. Facing a tight 30-day design deadline, complex geological and site constraints, and an architecturally challenging wave‑roof concept, Voyants adopted an interoperable digital approach using Bentley solutions — notably ProjectWise, OpenBuildings Designer, and STAAD — to integrate multisourced survey, traffic, and geotechnical data and streamline stakeholder collaboration.

Using Bentley’s interoperable applications, Voyants delivered an earthquake- and flood‑resistant 22,000 m² Shasanghat terminal with pontoons and linkspans designed for 6–7 m water level variation, completing conceptual design in 7–8 days and the final design in 18 days (three days ahead of schedule). Bentley-enabled simultaneous survey, analysis, and modeling reduced the team from 15 to 8, saved 596 resource days and 1,200 resource hours, industrialized delivery, and produced a 50% increase in ROI while creating a replicable, sustainable model for future terminals.
