Soyuzhimpromproekt Implements BIM Strategy on Russia’s First Methylchlorosilane Production Facility

Soyuzhimpromproekt was hired to design Russia’s first methylchlorosilane production complex in Kazan—a RUB 9.8 billion, 18‑building modernization of an obsolete rubber plant that required multi‑disciplinary engineering, tight three‑year delivery, and strict environmental controls. To address these challenges, Soyuzhimpromproekt implemented a BIM strategy using Bentley’s interoperable software suite, including ProjectWise, AutoPLANT, OpenPlant, ProStructures, Bentley Navigator, Bentley Raceway and Cable Management, and Promis.e.

Using Bentley’s applications and a federated information model managed via ProjectWise, the project team worked in parallel across disciplines, automated specifications, detected clashes, and maintained secure version control. Bentley’s solution reduced design time by 25%, cut documentation production costs by 50% and travel budgets by 30%, supported modeling of 400+ equipment units and some 15 km of piping, and helped deliver an environmentally improved, modernized facility that strengthens domestic supply and creates over 700 jobs.
