A Bentley Case Study
PT. Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk was tasked by the Indonesian government to design and build a 300‑bed, state‑of‑the‑art modular hospital in South Jakarta in under a month to relieve COVID‑19 bed shortages. Facing an aggressive schedule, social‑distancing constraints, and the complexity of coordinating structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines, WIKA turned to Bentley and its BIM and reality‑modeling applications (including ProjectWise, OpenBuildings Designer, ContextCapture, and SYNCHRO 4D) to industrialize and accelerate delivery.
Bentley implemented a connected data environment and interoperable BIM workflow—using drone reality capture, OpenBuildings Designer to produce the full model in 10 days, and SYNCHRO 4D for 4D simulation and schedule optimization—enabling remote collaboration and rapid clash resolution. The effort delivered the modular design in 10 days, completed construction in 16 days (20% faster), saved USD 400,000, improved cost efficiency by 18%, increased ROI by 24%, reduced material waste by about 3,000 m3 and accelerated hospital operations by two months.
