A Bentley Case Study
PT. Waskita Karya was appointed to revitalize Manggarai Station in South Jakarta—building a new bridge and track slabs to connect first‑ and second‑floor lines—under a tight 720‑day contract while keeping rail operations running and controlling high prestressed‑concrete costs. To meet complex design‑review requirements, site constraints, and the need for clear options for clients and authorities, Waskita turned to Bentley and its digital twin and BIM solutions, including ContextCapture, OpenRail Designer, OpenBridge Designer/OpenBridge Modeler, and SYNCHRO 4D.
Using Bentley’s integrated applications Waskita created a digital twin with a 3D reality mesh and multidiscipline models to detect conflicts early, export precise bridge geometry to fabricators, and simulate construction phasing. Bentley’s tools improved decision‑making, replaced paper 2D workflows, helped maintain operations during construction, shortened the schedule, and delivered measurable savings—about 0.3% per month avoided in time/cost overruns, roughly 0.8% cost avoidance from accurate segment geometry (preventing potential losses such as IDR 2.785 billion for two spans), while enabling clearer, faster client negotiations.
