A Bentley Case Study
MMC Gamuda, the turnkey contractor for Malaysia’s 52.2 km SSP metro megaproject, faced tight urban site constraints, massive data volumes, and strict regulatory reporting needs while delivering the country’s first metro megaproject. To achieve fast, accurate, safe, and widely accessible surveying, MMC Gamuda turned to Bentley’s interoperable reality modeling and information-sharing technologies, including ContextCapture and ProjectWise, combined with UAV data capture to digitize site conditions and establish a connected data environment.
Bentley’s ContextCapture generated photorealistic 3D reality meshes from UAV imagery and ProjectWise democratized access across the project, enabling MMC Gamuda to integrate models into federated BIM for 4D progress monitoring, design verification, measurement, and safety planning. The Bentley-enabled workflow saved over 1,000 resource hours, improved productivity an estimated 30–50× versus traditional surveys, reduced a measured cut-and-fill from 11,300 to 9,800 m³, and avoided risky site inspections after a landslide by enabling remote measurement and remediation planning.
