Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Achieves USD 800,000 in Annual Savings with ProjectWise

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power faced inefficient engineering data management across many stand‑alone repositories—hundreds of thousands of files spread across multiple databases and servers—making it slow and unreliable to find accurate design and construction information. To address this, LADWP evaluated solutions and selected Bentley’s ProjectWise engineering information management and project collaboration software.

Bentley delivered assessment, configuration, migration, training, and ongoing support to consolidate files into ProjectWise (including geospatial search and ProjectWise Dynamic Plot workflows), enforce CAD/project standards, and automate version control. As a result, LADWP cut research time on new projects by 80%, saving approximately USD 800,000 annually, reduced plotting time by 40%, reallocated one full‑time admin, and gained faster, more accurate access to project markups and reference data.
