Highways England, the UK government company responsible for operating, maintaining and improving England’s motorways and major A roads, needed a single, secure platform to manage and accelerate delivery of complex programmes (Smart Motorways, Complex Infrastructure and Regional Infrastructure). To address this, they selected Bentley’s BC platform (via the UK Digital Marketplace/G‑Cloud) to control project information across their supply chain and meet government BIM requirements.

Bentley, through the BC platform and GroupBC’s Professional Services, provided a UK‑based information-management solution with controlled workflows, standard naming conventions, a Digital Component Library and bulk import capabilities. The implementation enabled Highways England to demonstrate compliance with IAN184-2016 and PAS1192-2, store CDM 2015 health-and-safety asset data, speed up design approvals and RFIs, and accelerate upload and verification of supply‑chain information for more consistent, auditable project delivery.
