A Bentley Case Study
Águas do Porto (AdP) is the municipal utility managing Porto’s entire urban water cycle and serves roughly 500,000 people. Faced with dense, fragmented hydraulic infrastructure and dozens of siloed data systems, AdP needed a single, near real‑time platform to forecast flood risks, reduce outages, and unify sensor, billing, and operational data. To deliver this, AdP awarded a contract to a consortium including Bentley and deployed Bentley solutions such as ACTION Server, OpenFlows WaterGEMS, OpenFlows SewerGEMS, and OpenFlows FLOOD.
Bentley helped build H2PORTO, a federated digital twin that integrates 22 types of data sources into dashboards, automatic alerts, forecasts, and what‑if scenario models accessible in the field. The platform produced measurable impacts: operational gains of about 23% from remote field access, water service interruptions down 22.9%, sewer collapses down 54%, non‑revenue water reduced by 3.5%, and sensor data accuracy improved to nearly 99%, demonstrating Bentley’s role in AdP’s digital transformation.
