A Bentley Case Study
AAEngineering Group was awarded a USD 75 million contract to build a gold processing plant at 3,500 m in Kyrgyzstan’s seismic Talas region, facing extreme slopes, avalanche risk, tight environmental rules, a four- to five-month construction season, and pandemic-era disruption with a globally dispersed team. To meet these challenges they adopted Bentley’s Open Applications and digital twin services—including ProjectWise, ContextCapture, OpenRoads Designer, SYNCHRO, and others—to enable integrated, cloud-based collaboration and simultaneous design and construction.
Bentley’s solution provided coordinated multidiscipline modeling, virtual reviews, road and drainage optimization, and construction simulation, allowing AAEngineering Group to execute design and build in parallel. The approach optimized scheduling across 500 work sites, cut road design time by 30–40%, avoided costly routing errors and hauling costs (saving up to USD 2 million), and delivered the plant commissioning ahead of schedule—industrializing delivery and creating competitive market advantages for AAEngineering Group.
