A Bentek Case Study
The Government of the US Virgin Islands, which oversees 55 agencies and more than 27,000 covered members across St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John, was facing thousands of unexplained medical and dental eligibility discrepancies among its roughly 7,300 active employees, 7,000 retirees and nearly 12,000 dependents. To create a single system of record while maintaining its multi‑agency structure, the Government engaged Bentek to provide its benefits administration and eligibility system, including automated payroll audits and integrations with carriers, payroll and the retirement system.
Bentek performed a thorough audit, partnered with HR administrators across 60 agencies to verify enrollments, and implemented payroll and retirement integrations plus an automated payroll‑audit process; the cleanup was completed within four months. As a result, Bentek delivered clean, year‑round enrollment transmissions, semi‑monthly payroll synchronization, automated billing reconciliation and one‑click monthly carrier bills, producing a significant reduction in eligibility discrepancies and accurate, real‑time member reporting.
