The National Space Centre, a major UK planetarium and visitor attraction, faced the challenge of modernizing its aging projection system. Their unique 360-degree dome required exceptionally bright laser projectors to overcome a low-gain screen designed to minimize light bounce, all while seeking a cost-effective solution. They partnered with vendor BenQ to address this need.

BenQ implemented a solution using 13 of its ProAV Laser Projector LU9915 units and created custom firmware specifically for the project. This delivered the required ultra-high brightness and seamless 360-degree imagery, maintaining excellent contrast and illumination. The successful installation resulted in a flawless visitor experience and generated significant interest from other planetariums across the UK, establishing a new large-scale benchmark for BenQ's projection technology.
