Case Study: TC Energy achieves increased impact and broader employee engagement with Benevity's Missions

A Benevity Case Study

Preview of the TC Energy Case Study

How TC Energy Used Missions to Increase Impact and Engage More Employees

TC Energy, a North American infrastructure company with more than 8,000 employees eligible for its Empower workplace giving program, faced the challenge of engaging a diverse and increasingly remote workforce—especially during time- and money-constrained periods like the holidays. To broaden participation and provide accessible ways to do good, TC Energy partnered with Benevity and used Benevity’s employee engagement module, Missions.

Benevity helped TC Energy launch themed Missions—a holiday giving Mission that converted activity points into donation dollars and a Sustainability Mission for Environment Week using Benevity’s pre-built content. The holiday Mission drew 691 participants who completed 4,000+ activities and earned 85,000+ points; the Environment Week actions translated into measurable impact (enough to fill 150,000+ bottles of water, charge 150+ million phones and eliminate 1.1+ million plastic bags). Benevity’s Missions also engaged 6% of TC Energy’s remote workforce, introduced 8% of users to the program for the first time (80% of whom later gave or volunteered), and helped TC Energy reach 1,300+ unique participants and 1.8 million points across seven Missions by early 2020.
