Principal Financial Group wanted to engage more employees and support diverse nonprofits in local communities around the world. To create a more open-choice and inclusive social impact program, it turned to Benevity and its platform for giving and volunteering.

With Benevity, Principal expanded donation matching beyond United Way, enabled employees to create their own giving and volunteer opportunities, and opened participation to 7,600+ international employees with localized experiences. Since launching in 2022, the company has seen a 41% increase in eligible users, a 30% engagement rate, employees from 9 countries using the platform, and in 2023 alone 4,312 nonprofits supported across 30 countries, more than 64,000 volunteer hours, and $5.1 million in match contributions.
