How one good idea led to one million acts of Goodness

USAA, one of the leading providers of insurance, banking and investment and retirement solutions for members of the military, veterans and their families, said the COVID-19 pandemic and movement for social justice left its people feeling heavy and less connected. Its CSR team had to decide whether to continue business as usual or adjust its program to meet the moment.

Working with Benevity, USAA launched A Million Good Things, an initiative inspired by Benevity’s #OneGoodThing campaign kit and supported by the Missions module in the Benevity Enterprise Impact Platform. The campaign encouraged employees to track everyday positive actions, and in 2022 USAA’s CSR program recorded nearly 1.6 million good things, logged its highest number of volunteer hours to date, and reached its largest one-day employee donation total.
