How National Gas boosts engagement with Benevity

National Gas, the UK gas transmission network operator, needed to rebuild its social impact programme from scratch after separating from National Grid. With less budget, fewer resources and a reduced workforce, the company had to relaunch giving, volunteering and grantmaking in a way that could work with limited internal support and fit its new identity as an independent business.

Working with Benevity, National Gas built a simpler, more self-sufficient programme using Benevity’s giving, volunteering and grants management tools. It engaged more than 50% of employees in the first year, with 90% of engaged employees donating and 57% of frontline workers taking part; its grantmaking process also made funding more accessible to small, rural charities, and its LinkedIn social impact posts drew 3x the engagement of average corporate content.
