A Benevity Case Study
Atlassian, Australia’s largest software company, faced the challenge of creating community and scaling its Pledge 1% social impact as the business and headcount rapidly grew across 27 countries. To strengthen and measure its giving and volunteering efforts, Atlassian adopted Benevity’s corporate purpose software — leveraging Spark for employee engagement and Benevity Reporting for impact measurement.
Using Benevity’s Spark, Atlassian formalized a skills‑based volunteering program called Engage 4 Good that matched employees to nonprofit projects; the Feb–June 2021 pilot delivered 50 projects with 290 volunteers who logged 1,300 hours, producing an estimated AU$250,000 in savings for nonprofits. The program drove strong outcomes — ~96% of partners reported meaningful impact, 81% of partner staff learned new skills, 88% of volunteers felt more connected, and nearly all participants would recommend the program — demonstrating Benevity‑enabled gains in efficiency, upskilling and measurable community impact.
