Voluntary Benefits and Mobile Technology Led to Highly Successful OE

Precision Drilling, an energy services company with 1,700+ employees, needed to expand its benefits package and reach a highly dispersed workforce on drilling rigs. The challenge was to offer comprehensive voluntary products and make enrollment simple and accessible so employees could confidently evaluate and elect new coverage.

Working with Benefitfocus and the Benefitplace mobile app, Precision used a streamlined site, Customer Success support, video tutorials and decision‑support tools to centralize information and enable enrollment from smartphones. The result was a smooth open enrollment with participation in new voluntary benefits hitting about 15%—roughly four times the expected rate—high employee engagement, and the confidence to continue expanding benefits.
