Valencia College, a multi-campus community college in the Orlando area with over 65,000 students and 3,700 employees (about 1,600 benefits-eligible), faced growing complexity in benefits administration. With faculty, administrative and variable-hour staff and new ACA eligibility rules, their legacy enrollment system lacked the flexibility to manage varied eligibility, automate error-prone processes, or educate employees effectively about benefits options.
Valencia implemented Benefitfocus Benefitplace, using single sign-on, configurable enrollment workflows, automated carrier and payroll data transmission, and reporting dashboards for targeted communication.
