Milliken & Company adopted Benefitfocus to modernize and streamline benefits administration for 6,000+ employees

Milliken & Company, a global manufacturer with more than 6,000 benefits-eligible employees across 30+ U.S. locations, needed to replace disparate open enrollment processes—paper forms for hourly workers and a clumsy on‑prem HCM for salaried staff—that created administrative burden, data-entry errors and a poor employee experience. Leadership sought a unified, modern benefits administration solution to standardize processes and reduce workload for a small in‑house benefits team.

Milliken implemented Benefitfocus (including Benefitplace, dependent verification, payroll integrations, Health Insights and single sign‑on), running its first fully digital open enrollment in October 2022. The platform delivered mobile self‑service, centralized documentation and vendor access, reduced manual processing so a lean team maintained participation despite a 10% headcount drop, and provided ongoing strategic support to standardize best practices and explore further consolidation.
