How Trane Technologies Uses Sustainability Management Software to Track Renewable Energy Credits and Dramatically Reduce Its Carbon Footprint

Trane Technologies, a global climate innovator, needed a way to track and allocate renewable energy credits across more than 700 global facilities as part of its goal to become carbon neutral by 2030. The company wanted to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from manufacturing sites, warehouses, distribution centers, service centers, labs, offices, and its service fleet while improving data quality and reporting for external assurance.

Trane partnered with Benchmark Gensuite and used its Sustainability Management Software to digitize REC tracking, automate emissions calculations, and add reporting and visualizations. With the platform, Trane allocated 121 RECs across 24 facilities worldwide and eliminated more than 136,000 metric tons of market-based Scope 2 CO2 emissions.

Trane Technologies
