A Bench Case Study

Mejuri - Customer Case Study

Mejuri, the fine-jewelry brand cofound by CEO Noura Sakkijha, set out to disrupt an industry known for high markups, slow product cycles, and a traditionally male-dominated investor base. Early on, Mejuri faced major challenges raising capital, proving demand for direct-to-consumer jewelry, and managing the inventory-intensive demands of a new business.

Bench helped Mejuri by supporting the back-end bookkeeping and financial organization needed to run lean and scale efficiently. With Bench’s bookkeeping service, Mejuri was able to tightly manage cash consumption, maintain low inventory while replenishing quickly, and build the operational foundation behind its weekly product drops. The result was strong growth: Mejuri raised a $1 million seed round in 2016, later closed a $5 million Series A in 2018, and ultimately exceeded its 2018 targets while keeping fundraising conservative.
